Kimberly Fernie is a Canadian research scientist whose primary area of study is environment and climate change (ecotoxicology). Fernie is an adjunct professor in the department of Natural Resource Sciences at McGill University. In 1993, she earned her master’s of science in Forestry and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto. In 1998, she earned her Ph.D in Wildlife Biology at McGill University. In 2000, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Saskatchewan. Fernie’s current research focuses on the preservation of canadian wildlife and new contaminants emerging within the environment. In addition to this, she is researching the effects of exposure to these new contaminants, particularly in relation to birds and reptiles. In 2010, she was invited to review environmental data as a representative of Canada.
