The study showed that the flavonoids found in cocoa are extremely powerful antioxidants/anti-inflammatory agents that aid in brain and cardiovascular health.
The cocoa increased intracellular signalling pathways associated with T-cell activation, cellular immune response and genes involved in neural signaling and sensory perception. As a result, 70% cocoa can neuropathically enhance behavioral and brain health.
Dr. Lee S. Berk, Loma Linda University, “This is the first time that we have looked at the impact of large amounts of cacao in doses as small as a regular-sized chocolate bar in humans over short or long periods of time and are encouraged by the findings.”
