Fourth Day of Astrophotography - the Magellanic Clouds

Article Written By: Kyle Tam

The Magellanic Clouds

On the fourth day of astrophotography, the cosmos gave to me:
Four dazzling dwarf galaxies

Another amazing set of galaxies visible to the naked eye are the Magellanic Clouds. Both the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds can be visible in the southern hemisphere, making them impossible to be seen from northern locales. Yet that only enhances their mystical beauty when astro enthusiasts see them for the first time. This amazing photo was taken by a previously-featured photographer Samuel Kowal.
