This week for Photo of the Week, we
would like to feature an amazing shot of the Milky Way and the Aurora
Australis over Oreti Beach in New Zealand. Taken by the talented
photographer Grant Grieve, this lovely photo incorporates three of the
most common elements seen in most astrophotography these days. To the
left, the amazing Milky Way can be seen reaching into the heavens. On
the right, the vivid greens, yellows, violets and pinks of the aurora
can be seen dancing in the sky. In between the two, an orange glow can
be seen - that of the light pollution caused by the port town Bluff.
